The Copper Creek Series
Where everyone arrives with a plan and love arrives without one.
An inheritance she didn't ask for. A man who deserved it more. Six weeks in the Texas Hill Country that will change everything. What neither of them expected was how quickly the line between working together and wanting each other would disappear.
Dust & Devotion is Red Merritt's debut novel and the first book in the Copper Creek Series, where everyone arrives with a plan and leaves with something they didn't see coming.
He chases storms. She chases patterns. Neither of them has stayed anywhere long enough to call it home. She never saw him coming, which, for a woman who calculates outcomes for a living, is the most interesting data she has collected in years. Some things you can't predict, and some people you can't outrun.
Wild & Willing is the second book in the Copper Creek Series, for everyone who has ever said yes before they were ready.
She broke a story that cost someone everything, and then it cost her everything too. She's spent two years trying to rebuild a career, relegated to writing travel stories as the path to her big comeback. Then she arrives at Copper Creek to write about a ranch that clawed its way back to survival. What she didn't expect was the ranch's quietly relentless veterinarian, who would make her question everything she thought her future looked like.
What the Creek Remembers is the third book in the Copper Creek Series, for everyone who has ever been surprised by the life they didn't plan.
Born to Wander, Meant to Write
Red Merritt was born in Pennsylvania and, like so many characters in her novels, somehow ended up exactly where she was meant to be, in this case, splitting her time between the Gulf Coast of Florida and the Blue Ridge Mountains.
She writes romances about people who fall in love the way most people do, when they least expect it, in places they never planned to be.
When she isn't writing, she's probably on a plane, a back road, or sitting by the water somewhere with a hot chai, dreaming up her next set of complicated characters.
Because isn't that what the best stories are made of — complicated people, unexpected places, and love that arrives without asking permission?
